Yellow Wild Buckwheat
Eriogonum corymbodum
This wild buckwheat is only one of
many species growing in Arizona.
Clusters of tiny yellow flowers bloom
July through October, creating a
beautiful contrast against the stark
landscape of the Painted Desert.
Liquid, made from soaking buckwheat,
was used to treat blood poisoning and
bachache. Leaves were eaten raw
and leaf tea soothed sore throats.
